However, teaching may be stressful. Some schools have large classes and lack important teaching tools, such as current technology and up-to-date textbooks. Occasionally, teachers must cope with unmotivated or disrespectful students.

Some professional growth activities are required by the state and will assist teachers in obtaining more advanced levels of licensure. As mentioned in the section, “Do I need a license to teach?” there will be three levels of licensure for Wisconsin teachers starting in 2004 – Initial, Professional and Master Educator. In 2004, all beginning teachers will need to achieve a Professional Educator license within five years of starting their career, and some will seek the Master Educator license as well.
There is no such thing as a "typical" day in the life of a classroom teacher. Thus, good teachers approach each day with an open mind and a sense of humor. They aren't easily discouraged by bumps in the road or hiccups in the schedule, whether these issues be big or small. With a multitude of factors impacting every minute of the day, strong educators must be willing to bend when necessary, with a smile.
